Mary and I were in the Novitiate together and shared a number of very enjoyable years at "The Pines", especially in our mutual love of music. She had a great sense of humour and was always interested in other peoples' experiences. It was always a pleasure to meet her at the Ursuline gatherings in Chatham and to catch up on her busy life. Not many of us who devoted years of our lives as Ursulines can claim children, grandchildren, and even great grandchildren! Mary loved to share their stories whenever we met. A donation will be made in her memory to the HIV/AIDS orphans in the Patricia and Philip MacDonald Home in Nyumbani Village, Karen, Kenya. Mary was always interested in our ongoing support for the children and adolescents in Nyumbani Village and would be pleased to have a memorial there in her memory. With sincere sympathy to each and all of her much loved family. (Drs.) Fran MacDonald and Ron Hime

Mary was a wonderful teacher. When people are asked about who one of their favourite teachers were, Mary was mine. She taught me in Grade 5, a time in my life where I needed that special attention, and she gave it. She taught me to appreciate music and how to be empathetic to others. My condelences to her family.

Mary was my next door neighbour for the last 21 years, and I can appreciate the lovely start to her obituary ("The sound of music lost a spectacular note..."). When our windows were open, I enjoyed listening to her play the piano. She was incredibly talented. I enjoyed our conversations. Ron, Carson and I will miss her dearly.
