Obituary of Anne Albano
ALBANO, Catherine Sadie Anne (Nee: MacLellan) June 29, 1948 - September 7, 2020 On Monday September 7, 2020, Catherine Sadie “Anne” passed away at the age of 72. Anne was born in New Waterford, Nova Scotia to John A and Catherine Jessy MacLellan. One of nine children, the family spent their summers at the farm in Broad Cove. Anne loved Cape Breton and would later share this love with her children and grandchildren. Anne graduated from Business College and moved to Windsor, Ontario where she met the love of her life Jim Albano. They married on November 21, 1970 and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. Anne worked for the assessment department for many years, following the retirement in 2001 she volunteered at the Cancer Clinic until her diagnosis in 2018. Anne had a passion for gardening. She loved to nurture and watch things grow. She instilled in her children and grandchildren a respect for all living things. She was a voracious reader of both fiction and poetry. She did everything with goodness and love from cheering on her grandkids at their hockey games, to crocheting blankets for the great grandchildren she’ll never meet. She’ll be remembered for her kind compassionate spirit. Anne is survived by her husband Jim Albano, her three children Christy (Rich), Joe (Sharron), and Katie. Grandchildren Max, Kali, Emma, Owen, Marie, Katie, Angus, Evelyn, and Matthew. Also left to mourn are her siblings Theresa McEachern. Donnie MacLellan, Joe MacLellan, Flossy Brunette, George MacLellan, Ray and Margaret Cousineau, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Anne is predeceased by her mother Catherine Jessy MacLellan (nee Gillis) of Broad Cove and her Father John A MacLellan of South West Margaree, Brother Rodrick MacLellan, sister Mary Dufault, sister Agnes Marie, Margaret and James Albano, and Anne Taylor. As per Anne’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family gathering has been held. Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE (Dougall) 519-254-2585.
