Obituary of Frederick Allan Phelps

PHELPS, Frederick Allan June 3, 1938 - August 24, 2020 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Fred on August 24th. He was the beloved husband to Beatrice, and loving Dad to the late Francine Bryar (2010), Jackie (Daryld) McQueen, Jeanne (Denis) Dufault, Fred Phelps, and Brigitte Pocock. Grandfather to Madeline and Taylor McQueen, Kaitlyn and Natalie Dufault & Joe, John and Natasha Pocock. Fred also leaves behind many in-laws especially Anna St. John. Also mourning him are many nieces, nephews and cousins. He leaves his sister Patricia Phelps to mourn his loss. He is now reunited with his parents Frederick and Genevieve, his sisters Carol (Dan) Millar, Alma Phelps, Shirley (Herman) Dufraine, and brother Dennis (Sharon) Phelps. Fred joined the Canadian Armed Forces and served for three years (1955-1958). He then became a member of the Toronto Police Force which he served for 13-1/2 years, until he moved back to Windsor and worked for the Greater Essex County District School Board for 20 years. He enjoyed 22 years of retirement with Beatrice as they traveled in Canada and the USA in their RV.A special thank-you to WRH 4th for their kindness. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Woldie & Dr. S. Parashar for their care over these past several years. Also, a very special thank-you to the incredible staff at Hospice Windsor who showed him love and compassion until the very last moments of his life, especially Jessica, Therece, Tammy and Kristie. As per Fred's wishes, a private funeral was held and cremation has taken place. If you so desire donations may be made to the Heart Defects Society of Windsor & Essex County (PO Box 24055, Windsor, ON N8Y 4Y9), to Hospice of Windsor & Essex County, or to a charity of your choice and which would be greatly appreciated by the family.
