I just remember his quiet strength. Always there, always quiet and watchful. You always knew you were in good hands with Uncle Roy, he didn't need to say much, you just knew he was there. That sweet smile. RIP Uncle Roy

So sad to hear of Roy's passing. I had worked with him since 1979 up till his retirement. Marvelous man to work by his side as an engineer/mentor. We did many jobs together as I was generally one of his choices as a designer. He will be greatly missed & remembered by all who knew him.

A message from nephew Keith Gilbert .. As difficult as it is to say this Nancy, it is a lovely obituary for your father. I’m tearing up as I compose this thinking of him and my dad — truly both kind, loving, quiet and gentle souls. I know they both lived long and rich lives but there’s a painful emptiness that hurts so much. I hope you and your family may soon be able to smile and celebrate his life. But give yourself time to grieve. I will most certainly be making a donation in memory of your dad — my beloved Uncle Roy. All my love to you and the entire family! Keith

I have known and respected Roy Gilbert since I worked alongside him in the Mechanical Department at Giffels Associates, Inc. beginning in the late 1950's. In his quiet unassuming way, he was a pillar of the department, and I looked up to him as a role model. My wife Peggy joins me in passing along our condolences to the family. You have lost a great man. Don Giffels
