Obituary of John Steve Hack
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of John Steve Hack on May 28, 2020 at Windsor Regional Hospital after suffering a massive heart attack on May 25, 2020. John was an incredibly kind and generous man who loved life, always looking for the next challenge. He was always there when the family, a friend, neighbor or stranger needed a hand. John will be missed by many people including the love of his life Cathy, having shared almost 18 years of marriage. Loving brother to George Hack (Jane), sisters-in-law Monica Hack (Frank), Debra Ramsey (Reverend Charles), Linda Hentges (Jeff), Diana Maker (Robert), and Patricia Smith, and his pride and joy, his grandchildren Marika and Zachary. He will also be missed by his numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many grand-nieces and nephews whom he adored. He was always ready to encourage, support and let them know how proud he was of the wonderful people they are. As well as all others who have met John and have been touched by his love and generosity throughout his life. John has been reunited with his parents George and Mary Hack, younger brother Frank Hack, infant sister Mary, and sister-in-law Angela Sear. John was born October 7, 1958 in Windsor, Ontario where he lived until 1996 when he moved to Des Moines, Iowa where he worked for Auto-Jet Muffler as a salesman until 2016. While living in Des Moines he met Cathy and they married December 17, 2002 in Negril, Jamaica. In 2016 he retired from Auto-Jet Muffler and returned to Windsor where he worked with United Muffler, London, Ontario part time from home. John loved life. His goal was to make someone else’s day better and give everyone he met a reason to smile. He loved working with wood, whether it was making a gift for someone or building a garage he was happily eager to get at it. He also loved fixing things, no job was too big because he would figure it out. Due to the restrictions on gatherings there will not be a service at this time. A memorial service will occur at a later time when we can gather to celebrate his life. Memorial donations in his honor may be made directly to The Downtown Mission of Windsor, 664 Victoria Ave, Windsor, ON N9A 4N2. Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE (Wyandotte) 519-254-2585.
