Obituary of Catharina Greenhill

Born in the Netherlands on April 21,1930, Tina was one of six growing up during the WWII occupation of Holland. She is predeceased by parents Pieter and Cornelia Appelman, siblings Gertrude, Peter, Kees, Annie and Corrie and second husband Cedric Greenhill. She married Ben Slobbe in Holland and together they immigrated to Canada in the early 1950’s, where they made Stoney Creek, ON home and raised their two daughters, Yvonne and Donna. They quickly became proud Canadian citizens and embraced the English language and the culture whole heartedly. Tina was an avid reader and she thoroughly enjoyed fashion, music, the arts, dancing, current events and nature. She enjoyed many trips over a 30 year span to visit Yvonne in Calgary, Alberta and, she was a great camper! Some of her favourite local places to visit were the beaches of Confederation Park and Port Dover, she did love the water. Tina was a hard worker and remained fiercely independent throughout her life up until three years ago when her health began to decline. She moved into the Sun Parlor Home Long Term Care in Leamington were she lived comfortably until she passed quietly in her sleep on January 30, 2020.
