Thank you Nellie. 80 years, wow! I am so glad you and Mom were able to video chat last year! xoxo I am posting the translation. I, Nellie Voogd, have known Tinie since the 40s. Her parents had a vegetable store in The Hague and I lived diagonally above that store. As a young girl she already helped in her parents' shop and we soon became friends. When I came to the store, she would have saved a date or a fig for me and I gave her dance lessons behind the store. Without music, but I sang so that we could keep the beat a bit. In the end we went on a dance class together. After each lesson we went to a restaurant to drink lemonade or eat an ice cream. Tinie always treated me, because I had no money for that. I have very good memories of her and Ben and I was very sorry that they emigrated to Canada. We kept in touch during the first few years, but nevertheless lost sight of each other. Until a few years ago my daughter Femke found Yvonne via Facebook. That is why we have been able to call each other regularly in recent years and I am happy about that. I still have pictures of Tinie, Yvonne and Donna in my possession ... I am very pleased that Yvonne has pointed this website to me and that I have been able to share my memories here. We (Nellie and Femke) wish Yvonne and Donna a lot of strength in this difficult time.

Our sincere condolences go out to Yvonne and Donna, our thoughts and prayers are also with you during this time. My fondest memories of Auntie Tinnie were our family visits to Stoney Creek, when our mothers would get together. I don't remember much, but I do remember they were so happy together, the laughing and the dutch they spoke that I could not understand a word. Hugs and kisses to the both of you. Brian, Penny, and the rest of the Vegnaduzzo's

I grew up with Yvonne and her family since the early 60’s since we lived behind each other in Ontario then Yvonne and I moved out West. One time when her Mom came to visit they came out to see my husband Tom & I as we were living in BC at that time It was a long trip for her Mom and we lived out in the country so she just wanted to relax for the night except for the 3 of us wanted to go for a Pizza and a drink. We tried to persuade her to come but she wouldn’t & told us to go for pizza so we agreed. I reassured her that our Husky dog Blue was a good protector and wouldn’t hurt her. He was such a good protector that she went for a rest and he sat by the bed but she got scared of him and wouldn’t get up. She wasn’t use to dogs and who wouldn’t be scared seeing these big blue eyes staring at you all nite. But we did try to get her to join us but No she wanted to stay. Well she was a happy camper to see us return as by that time it was dark and really dark in the country which she was not use to and of course this dog starring at her. Then we felt bad of course but to this day Yvonne, my husband & I still laugh about it. Tina was always a joy to be around & will be missed. Rest in Peace Tina! Condolences & Hugs to Yvonne & Donna!! Sincere condolences to Yvonne and Donna. May your good memories of your Mom bring you comfort today and the days ahead. I had the opportunity to meet her once for Dan and Yvonne's wedding and once more September of 2019 when I came to visit Yvonne after Dan's passing. I do have a good, funny memory of your Mom. When Yvonne and I lived at Sevenoaks Court in Calgary our apartments were across from each other. We would spend a lot of time, back and forth to each others places. One day your Mom called and I answered Yvonne's phone, I asked who was calling and she said "IT'S YOUR MOTHER"I had to say sorry but it's Barb... we had a good chuckle❤❤
