My deepest sympathies Sue and Patty on the passing of Jim. I have fond memories of Jim and the McCoy family growing up across the street. I ran into Jim and Sue recently at Rock Bottoms and stopped by the table to say hi. It was always a pleasure to see them and talk.
I'm glad I did, he will be missed.

My deepest sympathy to Sue, Patti, and Colin on the loss of Jim (Dad, & Papa Jim). He was a kind and generous man, giving of his time, and always the family man. Jim will be genuinely missed❤ He introduced me to warblers and red tails and the weird & wonderful watchers that lined the trails of Ontario's parks and conservation areas.

My deepest sympathy to Sue and Patti. I first met Jim up on the tower at Holiday Beach many years ago. He was very friendly and quite enthusiastic in sharing his vast knowledge of the birds with me as I had just started out Hawk watching. I always enjoyed his company and his great stories. He was such a kind and caring man who often spoke so fondly of his family. I am so fortunate to have known Jim and was able to talk with him & meet Sue at the Hawk festival in September. I will never forget you Jim. Soar with the Eagles my friend!

A true gentleman, from a time where men where cut from a different cloth. He most certainly had left an impact, a guiding light to so many. Yes he was an educator, but more importantly he was a guiding light, a healer and a leader through the many many lives touched & his impact was life changing the world & our place in it had been left far better because he truly cared about the lives and minds of us young and impressionables. To the right of throne faithful servant.

Sue and Patti, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Jim. I have many fond memories of hanging out with him for the 25 + years I’ve known him, all the birding trips to Point Pelee Holiday beach and even Florida. You’ll all be in my thoughts and prayers.

Jim was a long time friend, Treasurer of the Holiday Beach Migration Observatory when I was President, and a regular visitor to the Hawk Tower at the Holiday Beach Conservation Area. He was a supporter of all things birding in Essex County. I will miss seeing his smiling face at birding events. We extend our sincerest condolences to Jim’s family and friends.

I have nothing but fond memories of Jim having spent many a moment with him while bird watching. Always with a story to tell. I always laughed as he recollected one bird sighting or another and would tell it to me as if it were yesterday only to find out he was talking about a sighting from at least 20 years ago.
I admired his determination to still get out and enjoy nature as much as he could even with failing health.
May God bless and give strength to his family at this time.
