Obituary of Christopher Alan Roy
Roy, Christopher Alan December 20, 1953 - April 8, 2023 Loving husband of 46 years to Kathleen (Keelan). Devoted father to Darren (Tracey) and Andrew (Jessica). Treasured grandPAW of Abigail. Favourite dog walker of Scooby, Stella and Oliver. Predeceased by father, Robert (1973); mother, Mildred (2008) and stepfather, Melvin McGee (2022). Beloved son-in-law of Donnabelle Keelan (George, 2009). Cherished brother-in-law of Karen Keelan (Sam), Sandra Lukas (Scott), and David Keelan (2018), and wife Darlene (2022). Stepbrother of Karen Boatman (Dave) and Leland McGee. Proud uncle of Erin and Jessica Lukas. Chris was a valued member of the office staff at Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, Detroit for more than 30 years. He valued his long, enduring friendships--his childhood friends, Robert Krause and David Whipple, good friends Bertha and Dave Albu, and neighbourhood buddy, Pat Gignac. Chris’ legacy is his family. He is immensely proud of his sons and their families. It gave him great joy to help them at any opportunity. His unselfish support will be greatly missed. Kathy will miss his enthusiastic assistance for any and all projects she undertook, no matter what he thought. Chris loved fishing. Reading about it, watching videos and casting a line, all gave him great pleasure. He was happy to see fish in the boat; it didn’t matter who had caught them. Someone else from the group of fishing friends will have to take over last place in the annual fishing trip. He liked to say he was “there for the experience, not the competition.” Chris was a gentle man and a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He was a classy dresser and an interesting and knowledgeable conversationalist. Cremation has taken place. Private family inurnment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. A life celebration for Chris is planned for a summer date at the cottage. There are not enough words to express our gratitude to the caring and compassionate professionals at Hotel Dieu-Grace Healthcare, Emara building 1st floor Rehab and 3rd floor Palliative Care Centre. Comforts provided by T2B were much appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Simple Choice Cremation (Dougall). 519-254-2585.
