So sorry to hear of your loss Sheila. Dennis was a good friend. We originally met when a bunch of us young engineers were hired by Co-op Implements in Winnipeg in 1980 Dennis was the kind of person who immediately made people comfortable. He was a short mouthy Irishman, which was part of his charm. There was never a dull moment when he was around. At the time, we were both single and living in a new city without a network of friends but most of the engineering group was new to the city and friendships formed quickly. We often met for suppers at each other's houses rather than eat alone. Lucky for us, Sheila showed up before we poisoned each other with our limited cooking skills. He will be missed. Sheila and Family, I had the pleasure, and I truly mean pleasure, to work with Dennis for many years at Siemens in Tilbury/Windsor. I consider him not just a colleague but a friend. His laugh, his whistle, he made his presence known. His leadership skills, his decision making skills, I could go on and on. I learned a lot by working with DK. I also had the pleasure of golfing with him in the Siemens league and we had so much fun. Dennis will certainly be missed by everyone he knew. I hope you able to take some comfort from all of the wonderful memories that have been shared. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Rest in peace DK. We will miss you.

Dennis is the person I'd walk the four corners of the earth if he asked. A terrific sense of humor, the cheeky grin, and a sarcastic comment that would cut through stress and tension. He always had a funny nugget of life advice. I am fortunate and proud to have worked with him at Siemens and consider him a friend. He always had my back then and after which (now) I cannot repay. There are so many memories, the life stories working with Dennis. I have regaled them all to the team and friends over a beer with reverence and honor. Here is one of many life stories…. Standing next to the GMT 800 line at Siemens, next to the King and Dennis. I said Gents, how can I be more like you.... Without hesitation and a grin expressing the humor of the question. Dennis said. "Well Zoltee, first you have to be shorter, (gesturing with is hands the height difference). “Lose some weight (patting my belly) and handsome like this," as he waved his hands across his face. "it isn’t going to happen. Well maybe more like that," as he waved his hands towards the King's face with a sarcastic grin. " "Just be yourself. I am sure it's hard enough for Caroline to be with you as you, than to be like me.” He is the sincerest and heartfelt definition of one of a kind. I am a better person knowing him. He is missed.

Our sympathies to Sheila, Kent, Grace and Bryce. The memories in having the privilege of knowing Dennis and his family are so numerous. I am constantly laughing thinking about the many funny times. From working for, and with him to golfing and golf trips. He and I always seemed to be the grown ups, or dads in the group. I always looked forward to seeing Dennis knowing there would be a lot of insults and jokes. I can still hear him whistling while golfing or his Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah when he agreed with something. Sheila and family, Dennis was so full of life! I am privileged to have worked with him and also called him my friend. Billy played hockey with Dennis on the Silver Wings and had so many laughs! What a guy! One night when they were playing Dennis forgot his hockey gloves and he borrowed mine (Rosey’s). He kept teasing after the game “ there were no goals in those gloves “! He just had so much to say and surely made us laugh with him. Prayers to you all.

I have such great memories that I was lucky to have shared with Denny, starting with the Winnipeg years. A group of us became fast friends during that four short years that lasted decades. I will never forget my visit with Denny and Sheila in Belle River. The loong bike ride around Pelly Island, the whiskey distillery tour, Toronto and Niagara Falls and a fun out of town car shopping trip to buy his new turbo car. Denny could always be counted on for a laugh and a smart remark or two. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten by those who knew him. My deepest sympathies. Jan Fontaine

He was always teasing and joking and loved it if he could get you riled. He met his perfect match in Sheila and together they made a happy life. I loved hearing about their many wonderful travel excursions around the world and their adventures. The last time I saw Denny was when Pete and I got married and of course he was teasing and making us laugh! Cherish all the memories. We are thinking of you all. Joy and Pete Vokes
