I first met John at a jam session in Chucks garage about 4 years ago and immediately felt a strong kinship as a fellow musician with similar life experiences. John was friendly and approachable and an excellent seasoned musician. I had the good fortune to sit in with John with a couple of different bands since that time and come to appreciate his gentleness, wit and talent. I will miss him very much. Heaven has gained a great horn player and a beautiful soul. Dave Pike
