Patti, Heather and I are so sorry to hear of John's passing and wish to pass on our condolences to you and the family. Times change and people change and we move on about our lives but we always remember those along the way who made an impression on us and changed our lives in some way. From back in the day when John started his wheelchair design/build business John chased his dreams and was successful catching them . Ian, Heather and Skyedog

Dear Patti and family. It is with great sadness I have learned of John‘s passing. I have many wonderful memories of John from our days in wheelchair basketball. I remember when he first started up his wheelchair business, repairing and building them. John was a great help to my late husband John Porter, who enjoyed his camaraderie for many years with John while playing basketball together. He has left us all with many wonderful memories and may you take comfort from those. My heartfelt sympathy.

My sincere condolences. John always helped me as a young player on the Spinners and I’m not surprised by how many remember his calm and supportive character which has been there since the start. He will be missed by many.

I am so very sorry to hear of John's passing. My deepest sympathies to Patti and the entire family. I will always remember John as a kind, patient, talented and creative individual who inspired many young athletes to pursue their dreams in sport, especially basketball, regardless of the challenges. In addition to John's athletic strengths, he also had wonderful technical skills, and created a legacy video of my parents cooking our family's favourite recipes, complete with music and bloopers. It has been a cherished treasure for my entire family, thanks to John and his willingness to take on the project. I am so very sorry to hear this sad news. I am keeping the family in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Patti, I want to say THANK YOU! When you and John approached me to sing at your wedding, I was honoured and scared. It was my 1st time meeting John, but his beaming smile and encouraging "you can do it", gave me the courage to do my best. John's positive attitude was one if his wonderful gifts. All who were fortunate enough to meet and know John came away with that "I CAN DO IT! " feeling. I'm sure when he met God our Father, God said, "Well done, my Child, well done"!

Dear Patti, so so sorry to hear of Johns passing. He and YOU were a great team! True Grit was Boyko, hated coaching against him and LOVED coaching him with Ontario! At one nationals in the 90s, during halftime of the championship game, and John had to have this planned, he took out his silver medal from the year before, and threw it on the ground in the middle of our circle and said, we didn’t come here to win another one of these, we came here to win gold!! We went out and won the Gold! Amazing competitor, teammate, friend and husband. So many John stories will live on forever. Big Bowesy hug to you Patti. London Flyers send their deepest condolences❤️
