Obituary of Jo-Anne Simonne Cartier

CARTIER, Jo-Anne (nee Arseneault) July 13, 1969 - April 11, 2021 Our hearts break as we announce that Jo-Anne Cartier (nee Arseneault), at the age of 51, has lost her long, hard fought battle against cancer at 6:00am on April 11, 2021 at home surrounded by family and so much love. Jo-Anne was the daughter of Harriet (nee Taylor) and the late Vincent Arseneault, and stepdaughter to Sharon and the late Don MacKay. Jo-Anne was a loving and devoted mother to Shane (Hannah) Arseneault, Krista (Gidrius) Cartier, Rebecca (Yanni) Chelonis, and Eric MacKay. She will be deeply missed by her partner Steven Steen and her step kid’s Tiffany, Tyler (Sarah), and Kayla. Jo-Anne was sister to Denise Simpson and an aunt to Chantal, Jennifer, and Nicole. Loving Nana Jo to Nortalus, Brooklynne, Mataya, and Dontae. Niece of Carole, Claudette, Claire, Helen, Florence, Raymond, Richard, Lucien, and predeceased by Henry, Edward, Lloyd, Bernice and Rejeanne. Jo-Anne will be extremely missed by all her family and so many close friends. As per Jo-Anne's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on July 13, 2021 on her birthday in Sarnia, where a burial of her ashes will take place. Time and exact location will be determined at a later date.
