To the family of Danial George Millar, I never knew Mr. Millar however when I read your beautifully written words about his life in the newspaper, your words at the start caught my heart and I read on. I’ve lost many I’ve loved in my life including my son and brother who left our world way too soon. Your words reminded me once again how great love in a family is and how much I treasured every moment with my son and miss him everyday. Your husband, dad , grandfather and great grandfather must have been a very special man and I’m sorry for your family’s loss. He was born the same year my amazing father was. Your words in honour of his life were so beautifully written and I felt a tug on my heartstrings reading his story, I wanted to say thank you to whomever wrote it and let you know from a total stranger that his life and your words touched my heart . Sending you all strength and positive thoughts. It never ceases to amaze me how many lives a person can effect without even meeting them in person. My dad also grew up in Walkerville and his parents were Scottish immigrants. My father taught me how to play cribbage at a young age and I treasure so many memories. I actually never have responded to an obituary of a person I did not know but Mr. Millar’s so filled my heart. I know he must have touched so many lives during his lifetime and even in his death I wanted you to know that your words about him touched mine. Hearts and prayers, Chris Inverarity

All the stories he would tell us. Amazing man. Remembering last summer sitting on the patio with him. Great times and great memories of him. He was a grandpa too many. RIP

Dad loved his life and made the most of it even in this last year of being isolated so much at home. I will forever remember all our conversations by phone ans some facetimes. On our last FaceTime about five days before he went in hospital he was trying to prop up Dan’s phone to get his picture showing so he wouldn’t have to hold the phone node some reason it kept showing double. Just at the end of the double I realized I could take a screen shot. It turned out so funny two of dad. Both smiling brightly. It was the last one that I ever got of daddy. Darn I miss him so much. My heart aches. We were blessed. Love you dad. Xxo ❤️❤️

I had the opportunity to work with Dan on those Junior Bowling Tournaments. Every April for four weekends both Saturday and Sunday, he was so patient. There were no computers for calculating back then either. Then we had the pleasure to bowl together in our adult league. Sincere condolences to all his family!
