Obituary of Michael Anthony Spencer

SPENCER, Michael Anthony February 8, 1953 - March 3, 2021 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Michael Anthony Spencer, age 68, after a short illness. Michael was born on February 28th, 1953 in Hamilton, Ontario. He is survived by his loving wife Susan of 43 years, children Shannon (Tyler), Erin (Chris), his three grandchildren A.J., Benjamin and Duncan. Michael was predeceased by his father Thomas Spencer and survived by his mother Mary Spencer, sisters Rosanne (Michael), Mary-Pat (Bart), brothers Tim (Sheila) and Chris (Peladija) and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Michael worked for the Federal Government for over 38 years and was passionate, hardworking and an exceptionally loyal husband, father, brother, and friend. He was an active member of the Father A. Nolan Knights of Columbus Council 9865, Michael held many titles including Grand Knight. He was also a 4th Degree Member of Father A. Kerckhaert Assembly 2289. Anybody who knew Michael’s huge heart knew he loved spending time with his family, was dedicated to community service work and his enthusiasm for fly fishing. The family would like to thank the staff from the 7th floor at Windsor Regional Hospital - Metropolitan Campus. Due to the pandemic and restrictions, no service will be held. The family would like you to hold him in your thoughts and prayers at this time. A service will be held in Michael’s honour once we can celebrate safely together again.
