Obituary of Alice Almeda Dillon
Passed away peacefully in her home at 98 years of age. Predeceased by her parents Robert and Mary (nee Vickery) Martin. Beloved wife of the late George (2015) for over 71 years. She is survived by daughters Judith Matt (Paul Cooper), Margaret Mueller (Michael), and son George (Jo-Anne); grandchildren Dr. Robert Matt, late James Matt (2017), Thomas Mueller (Melissa), David Mueller (Sara), Jonathan Mueller (Sarah), Dr. Matthew Dillon (Stefanie), Kimberly Aiello (Chris); great-grandchildren Kayla, Noah, Benjamin, LIncoln, Claire, Charlotte, Hendrik, Molly, Michael, Kaitlin and great-great grandchildren Alice and Melissa. Alice was born, raised and lived all her life in the Town of Tecumseh where her great-grandparents came to farm along the shores of Lake St. Clair in 1885. Throughout the almost ten decades of her life, she witnessed and experienced great social and economic change. She remained steadfast in her beliefs and values and instilled these in her children and grand-children to whom she left a legacy of the virtues of hard work, common sense and determination. Her life was centered around her family whose company she enjoyed immensely. For over forty years, she worked alongside her husband to build their marine construction business which saw many projects completed along the Great Lakes. Alice was very grateful that she was able to remain in her home. The family is thankful for the compassionate and loving support provided by her caregivers over the past year. In keeping with Alice's wishes, a private memorial service will take place at a later date. If you so desire, memorial donations may be made to Iris House of Windsor or the Downtown Mission. Arrangements entrusted to Simple Choice (Wyandotte) 519-254-2585. Online condolences and cherished memories may be shared with the family at www.simplechoicecremation.ca.
