Obituary of John George Dignan

We are saddened to announce the unexpected passing of John at home Feb. 4, 2021. Beloved husband to Colleen (nee Knuckle/Sills) over 40 years. Loving and devoted father of Shelli Hazael, Shannon Darroch (Brian) and Darren Sills (Cindy). Fun, loving grandpa of Kyle, late Kenny (2012) and Ryan Kubinec, David Darroch (Amanda) Heather Dunning (Mitch) and Tara Darroch. Great Grandpa of Aidan James Thomas and newly born Charlie Rose Dunning. John was predeceased by his parents Dr. John George Dignan and Elizabeth Dignan. John loved his siblings; James (Deborah), Mary Theresa Aay (Ken), Michael (Debbie), Connie (Larry), Paul (Laila). John is also survived by 3 nephews; Christopher, Matthew, James, a niece, Sarah, many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews. John was a very successful and ambitious business entrepreneur in Windsor throughout his life. John’s love and affection for his family always showed up in his words and actions. He loved to travel with his love Colleen, book vacations with the family and go boating on Lake St Clair. Seafood dinners were his favorite meal followed up with a very dry martini with lots of olives!! John was a past member off the Windsor Yacht Club. Everyone who knew John knew the valiant fight that he fought to live life to the fullest! John was the precious recipient of a double lung transplant at Toronto General Hospital in May 2015. That enabled us to be blessed another 5 years with him. Cremation has taken place.
