Obituary of Gerald Joseph Grondin

Gerry passed away on February 3, 2021 at the age of 83. He leaves behind his best friend and loving wife Roberta (nee Spicer) of 65 years. He was the son of Joseph and Laura Grondin, brother to Robert (Lea), Judy (late Larry Hanlan) and predeceased by sister Jo-Anne and brother Tom (Sandy). He was a loving father to 6 children- Mike (Mary Ellen), Bob (Margie), Cathy (Dave Betschel), Laura (Bob Levac) and pre-deceased by sons Joe and Steve (Kelly). He loved being around and hearing from his 11 grandchildren: Joe, Chris, Peter, Matt, Brittany, Shaunacy, Nicole, Ashley, Meaghan, Shelby, Mitchell and 9 great grandchildren. Gerry was a well respected and admired Life Insurance Professional earning his CLU and CFA accreditations. He worked for many companies in his 40 year career retiring from the O'Kane Financial Group. He was a former member of the Windsor-St. Clair Rotary Club and proud of its work in the early development of the Ganatcho trail. He was an avid golfer. He and Roberta belonged to Essex Golf and Country Club for over 20 years and they golfed in Florida during the winter. He loved baseball especially cheering on the Tigers, watching old movies, reading crime and mystery novels and working on puzzles. He and Roberta belonged to St. John Vianney Parish and enjoyed retirement at Solidarity Towers with a beautiful view of the river. As per Gerry’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will occur at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE (Dougall) 519 254 2585.
