Obituary of Stella Marie Zack

With the heaviest of hearts, our dear and very loved Stella Marie Zack lost her fight with Covid-19 on January 26, 2021 at the age of 95. We celebrate her wonderful life of love and compassion. Stella was born on August 31, 1925 in Belle River, Ontario. The youngest of eight siblings to her parents, Henri and Mélendé Girard. Stella always had a zest for life, that was full of love for her four daughters, Dolores Bryan, Pat Wieler (late-David), Annette Carrier and Aline Uruski (Gary), 10 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren. Stella was proud to have worked in health care. She worked as a Nurses Aide and was always eager to learn which lead her further her career and become a Nurse. A career that allowed her 40 years of caring for the sick and elderly in Windsor, Ontario and Detroit. Then, into her eighties, she gave her time to children and worked as a crossing guard. Stella was fiercely independent and had a feisty wit that could bring laughter to a room. Stella loved with all her heart, put her family first, and was very much loved in return. She had many hobbies such as knitting, crocheting, pottery, playing cards, and making amazing arts and crafts for her family. Her art was so enjoyed, to her surprise she even found one of her early year pieces on display at her retirement home many years later. She had a love of travel and adventure, venturing to Disney world at 93 years of age. Stella was social and loved family gatherings. While she would have loved us to be celebrating her life, at this time due to the pandemic, no services will be held. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. To the living I am gone To the sorrowful I will never return To the angry I was cheated But to the happy, I am at peace And to the faithful I have never left. I cannot speak but I can listen, I cannot be seen but I can be heard. So as you stand in a vast forest, Gazing at the stars, Remember me… Remember me in your heart and in your thoughts The memories of the times we loved The memories of the time we shared.
