Obituary of Robert Guthrie

GUTHRIE, Robert (Bob) May 23, 1953 - January 16, 2021 Born May 23, 1953 in Helensburgh, Scotland. Passed peacefully on Saturday, January 16, 2021 after a long fought battle with brain cancer. Predeceased by his Parents Robert "Bobby" and Mary "Mamie". Survived by his loving and devoted Partner Diane Jean, his most dedicated and loving son Robert "Rob" and Wife Stacey who spent many hours caring for Bob, and his Daughter Fiona. Proud and adoring Papa to Karmyn, Riley, Jack and Klay, and Diane’s family Jen, Mark and Dakota. Survived by his Brother Ian (Catherine) and their family. Also survived by his Cousin Dianne (Scott) and family in Scotland, who continued to stay connected to the end. Additional thanks go out to all his steadfast friends for their care, compassion and loyalty, especially Gordon, Irene, Dave, Graham, Richard and Connie, Jeri (Ron), and dear Louise, you are all amazing. Finally, the outstanding Doctor’s and health care professionals, Dr. Freeman, Dr. Samola, Dr. Bergeron, my special angels Dora, Anu, and Gauda at Sobey’s Pharmacy for their support and standing by us through our time of need. Due to the pandemic, in lieu flowers, donations to the Cancer Program at Windsor Regional Hospital, Hospice of Windsor and Essex County, or Diabetes Canada. As per Bob’s wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Simple Choice Cremation Centre (Wyandotte) 519-254-2585. A celebration of Robert’s life will follow at a later date.
