Obituary of Stafford John “Blackie” Dendiuk

Your wings were ready but our hearts were not. Stafford passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on January 13, 2021 at the age of 78 with loved ones at his side. Beloved husband of Patricia (nee Bastien) for 51 years. Loving father of Kim Dendiuk (Joe Malec), Dennis Dendiuk (Shannon), John Dendiuk (Jennifer Urquhart) and Vickie Prescott (Todd). Cherished grandfather of Brenna, Serenna, Reese, Brady, Sevy, Teghan, Tyler, Maksim and Matheson. Dear brother of Stella, Anne and Danny. Predeceased by his siblings Sophie, Steve and Mary. Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Stafford was a retiree from Chrysler and he was a lifelong member of Unifor 444. Stafford was stoic. Despite battling cancer for 3 years, he rarely complained and in fact denied the illness. It was his mental fortitude that allowed him to persevere and outlive his prognosis. In the last few years, he travelled more miles than all his prior years combined. He went to Oregon several times to visit his family and even enjoyed a vacation in Mexico. He was the strong, silent type with great hair, his infamous curl and a mischievous smile that will always be remembered.
