Obituary of Rosemary Etue

There’s a rumour going around that Rosemary Etue has died. This could not be farther from the truth, you see, she is alive and well in the arms of her Heavenly Father and his glorious son Jesus Christ Almighty. She waited for this day to be reunited with her King and now she is finally in his lap. Rosemary’s unwavering and devout faith brought her through many years of trials, tribulations and illnesses. She is in pain no more and is running through the golden streets. Something she wishes she could have done here on earth. Rosemary was a devoted family woman who cherished her late husband Tom and adored her three children Sean (late Tammy), Amanda and Aaron (Meghan), her grandsons Zachary (Serena), Brayden (Bree), Jayden, and Carter and especially her beautiful great granddaughters Sophie Raelynn snd Soleil Tammy Marcia. She lived for family visits, dinners or special occasions where we would all be together. She made it known to us just how very much she loved us and how proud she was of us. She has literally given the shirt off of her back to one of her children or grandchildren without regard for her own financial situation. She always used to say “if I’ve got it, it’s yours”. She was selfless with her love and time and never turned away a visit with her cherished ones. Rosemary spent many years ill and she would pray from her bed for all who God placed on her heart to pray for. I used to laugh because she often told me she prayed for Tom Cruise to leave Scientology. Her constant prayers were for her family and friends. Praying is how she passed the time while feeling unwell and being too ill to get out of bed. She adored her sisters and brothers and is survived by Cathy Donnelly (late Tod), Patricia Carter Brooks (late Bill), Dave (Gloria), Michael (Mary) and Janet Carter. Predeceased by brother Donald Hedden. Also survived by sister in law Agnes Etue (late James), Patricia Etue, and brother in law Donald Etue. Rosemary is also predeceased by her husband Tom, daughter-in-law, Tammy, her parents Harold Whitney Carter and Ruth Elizabeth (nee Hedden), father-in-law Kenneth Etue and mother-in-law Veronica (nee Molyneaux). She is fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Rosemary enjoyed her family immensely and there is nothing she wouldn’t have done to brighten their lives. She was a 25 year member of Kingsvillle Community Church where she always enjoyed singing in the choir. She dreamt of being back up on that stage to bring Glory to God and perform once again. We know you’re singing Jesus’ praises up in Heaven today and for all eternity, your beautiful voice has been restored!! Your complete health is in the hands of Our Father but we know you are free from pain after so many agonizing years. Anyone could have turned away from God but Rosemary’s strength and resolve in her Faith allowed her to continue living life the best way she could, serving God. That was the primary goal of her daily life. Rosemary loved and loved hard! If she loved you there was never a doubt and she’d love you forever. She radiated love, forgiveness, acceptance and generosity and had a heart of gold. Always quick to forgive without ever holding a grudge. She kept a peaceful heart. We could learn from her. Rosemary went back to business college when she was 45 with three young children to raise at home. She graduated with honours and it is note-worthy that she received 100% on her final math exam. She was thrilled, as she should have been. We were so proud! Rosemary’s friends were also extremely important to her and she made it known to them. Everyone benefited from knowing our mom. She was a light in the darkness and a star that shone ever so brightly. She worked in the leamington emergency department for over ten years, and loved every minute of it. She gained many new friends in her colleagues. Her face literally lit up at the thought of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was cared for by so many which makes this extremely sudden passing all the more tragic. She went home to be with our Lord on Thursday January 7, 2021 at 3:50 pm after a short battle with Covid-19. She planned to live until she was 90, but God, in his infinite wisdom knew better. He knew it was time for her to come home and rest. She is free from pain and suffering, which, unfortunately, she had become accustomed to. No more pain mama, only rejoicing with our King. You will be missed every minute of every day and will be remembered in the fondest of ways forever and ever. We love you mama/nana. Rest easy now. “When God took you back he said hallelujah you’re home “ Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE (Kingsville) 519-254-2585.
