Heartfelt condolences to family and friends of Dorothy Stong. Dorothy and I met in the late 1960’s during my stay in hospital. We were friends for only only a few years as I left the Sault and sadly we lost contact. Remembering our outings to Pat’s Norhview and the Antlers in Sault Michigan. I have thought of her throughout the years and was saddened to find this notice of her passing through a google search. May she Test in Peace. Angie (Angelika)

Mario/Judy and family: I remember Dorothy as a fun loving, cheerful lady who seemed to be on the go all the time. She was interested in people and must have been a terrific nurse and caregiver. Sal

Dear Judy, Bonnie and Bob. I first met Dorothy in our first year of nursing. She was the light of the party, beautiful, so smart and up for any adventure. She and Judy invited me to their home for meals and to stay overnight on many occasions. Nice for an out of towner. When I was pregnant with my second daughter she came to my parents farm and spent time with me and my oldest daughter. She gave me comfort and support when I needed it. My thoughts are with you all. Love Sharon Rodd.

I am writing to you Judy, Bonnie & Bob with my most sincere condolences. Dorothy was one of the first 'Soo' Gals to embrace me, an out of towner, with a heart of gold at St. Mary' s School of Nursing. In my first winter Dorothy convinced me I could ski on an extra pair of family skis. After much debate I finally agreed. The skis were for a 6 foot tall man. And cross country. At the bottom of the ski hill it didn't look that daunting. Dorothy reassured me I could do it. I had been on skis once in my life. I remember Dorothy just smilng & wondering what my problem was as I tumbled down from the top and almost broke my leg. After 52 years I can still visualize Dorothy helping me overcome my reticence & the pain in my leg . That didn't end our friendship. I knew Dorothy simply meant well. And I appreciated her kindness, enthusiasm, & fun. On graduation day our picture was taken for the newspaper, dressed in our white gowns. Dorothy with a head of curls, so beautiful. Definitely a unique and caring lady. May your soul be at peace my long ago friend. Sincerely, Faith Ivall
