Dear Danielle & Stephen, So sorry to hear about the loss of your dad, Gabe. It was my pleasure to know him when he worked at the University of Windsor in the late 60's. Always very kind and helpful doing what he could for everyone. He was well liked and will be missed. Thinking of both of you at this very sad time. Sincere Condolences

It would be safe to say that Gabe was one of the abiding influences on my life at university, and long after, even to this day. His candour, honesty, integrity, humour, and joy of life were a welcome balance to the distractions of undergrad life. While he is gone in body, his spirit endures.

I had the pleasure of working with Gabe for a number of years at Royal LePage Binder Realty. Gabe was at all times a gentleman of the first order. He always had a smile on his face and a wonderful sense of humour. If you had the good fortune to know Gabe you were his friend. I'll remember most though his unabiding love for his family and the pride he had in them all. You'll be missed by a lot more folks than you ever would have thought Gabe. Tom Steel

So sorry for your loss Shirley, Stephen and Danielle. We truly lost one of Windsor's finest. Such a remarkable man, living live to its fullest, every day. I first met Gabe when we bought the Tim Horton franchises from him. He was an outstanding mentor to us both, remembering his calmness, steadfastness, even during the Dougall flood. He kept checking in with us over the years, so helpful, giving of his expertise to the newbees. We followed his franchise experiences in the bread business. He always had such a positive nature with such a terrific sense of humour. It was contagious. When he sold our house, I will never forget his ongoing support. Most recently I met him again at a children's Christmas party with his grandchildren. One couldn't help but notice the genuine love for his grandkids. I will never forget Gabe and just so appreciated him being such a outstanding human being. Thankyou Gabe. We will all miss you. Vera Maguire(aka Watson)

It was an honour and a pleasure to work with Gabe some thirty years ago with other parents in lobbying for and establishing St. Joseph's High School, first in the former Edith Cavell school location and later in the former Shawnee school location. Gabe and many of the parents worked zealously to raise funds to equip computer labs, the gym, and other areas of the school. Gabe was a good man. We most certainly have lost one of the good ones. May Gabe rest in everlasting peace. He has earned it. Emma and Tony Ellul
