Obituary of Lyle Morris

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Lyle Morris, 71 years, on Sunday, October 18, 2020. Beloved husband of Irene (nee Haerts). Loving father of Jeff (Melanie) and Ken (Jennifer). Adored grandfather of Conner, Audrey, Cale and Dane. Dear brother of Dianne Ellis (2020), Linda McPhail (Doug), Jane Leslie (Dwayne, 2020), Elliott Morris (2018) and Von Morris (Michelle). Brother-in-law of Linda Lebert (Roger). Lyle will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Lyle was a Road Superintendent for 33 years and a member of AORS, where he served as president in 1998 and he was an honorary life member. Lyle was a dedicated community service advocate. He spent 28 years as a volunteer Comber Firefighter where he was awarded a 25 year exemplary service medal from the Governor General. He was a chairperson for the Lakeshore Community Services Board. Lyle was a 50 year member of the Comber Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #241 where he also served as the President for many years. He was an avid baseball player and coach for the Comber Legion, but his greatest joy was watching his grandchildren play baseball and hockey. At Lyle's request, cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will take place on Thursday, October 22, 2020 to celebrate Lyle's life at the Comber Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #241, 6420 Main St., Comber, ON from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Comber Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #241 or to the Hospice of Erie Shores.
