It’s hard to believe my Dear Aunt Joan has been gone for almost a year. I miss her terribly but hope she is reunited with her family and loved ones that weren’t as lucky to be on this earth as she was ♥️

We remember Joan for her sense of humor and her positive outlook. We got many good book titles from her and she always enjoyed a visit on Woodview when we were neighbours. We remember her as a lovely lady. Lonnie and Shona Jones Lonnie and Shona Jones

Sincerest sympathy to the family of Joan. I got to know Joan thru the country cousins quilting group who rented space at Essex Retirees. I loved chatting with her. She was interesting, fun loving, up beat, informed and a joy to know. Bettylou Frith Essex Retirees Social Club

We were blessed to have Joan as our next-door-neighbour for several years in Essex. Joan, or Nana Joan as the kids called her, was a kind, generous woman, always quick with a smile and happy to share a story. Her coffee cakes became a much anticipated treat, usually showing up in a nice tin as a thank you for shovelling the driveway or cutting the grass. Many times a quick trip into our back yard would turn into a nice, long conversation with Joan and Lee. Joan, Lee and family were the best neighbours anyone could ask for. Gone but not forgotten, may she Rest In Peace. Love, The Sinn Family

I am praying for you all. I am so blessed to have spent time with your mom at La Chaumiere! I loved having a tea or gingerale with her and eating cookies and chatting about our day! Hearing about her life before Canada, about how much she loves her family, and about the way her grandbaby says Lubberly, how anytime she has a hard day she just sits outside and smiles because she gets to see her favorite color green all around her. We once sat outside for poetry club, and her and I went out before the others and she just kept closing her eyes and saying "doesn't that sun feel so nice!" She had the biggest smile on. Just the biggest. I will never forget that day, because it was something so simple, and with closed eyes and a giant smile she took in the warmth of the sun like it was the greatest gift she'd ever had. What a joyful woman! I am so pleased I had the opportunity to get to know her and call her a friend. I will miss her sparkly eyes and that giant smile. God Bless you all in this trying time. -Love, Paige
