Obituary of Andrew "Andy" Lambros
Mary Lambros would like you to remember the love of her life, travel companion and caring partner of 34 years, Andrew (Andy) Lambros who passed peacefully on Monday, July 20th 2020 after a 20-year battle, which he fought hard with various cancers at the age of 81. He was surrounded by immediate family, exactly where he wanted to be - overlooking the lake. He has moved on to his next life, which he will hopefully live free of cancer. Born in Athens, Greece, he was the son of Mary & Elias Lambros, and one of 5 children. He came to Canada at the age of 16 and has called Canada home since then. He had a passion for living, which included a love of Gibsons’ 12, cigars, golf, travel, Casinos and stained glass. Andy and Mary lived life to the fullest having owned and run Integrite Group, Olde Walkerville Theatre, Loreleis’ Bistro, and Stonehedge Properties. Travel was always a highlight and together they covered all corners of the world…more than once. Andy had a way of telling ‘dad jokes’ like no other and could make most people smile simply with his presence. He was a giving and compassionate man and will be truly missed by family, friends, staff and colleagues. He is survived by his wife Mary Lambros, daughter Amanda Janes, who resides in Perth, Western Australia, her husband Owen, his two grandsons, Lance and Blake and the family dog, Bailey. He is also survived by his extended family: Penny Henshaw (Arizona), Merrillee & Jack Cormier (Windsor), Anita & Dave Thierry (Hamilton), and numerous nieces and nephews that are all very dear to his heart. He was predeceased by his sister Angela Lambros and brother-in-law Gregory Joinville. A heartfelt thank you to all those who came to visit and say their good byes over the last few weeks and many thanks to Stephanie Undey-Lefebvre, Jon Renaud and Mario Ricci for helping to make his last weeks on earth memorable. There will be no funeral service or wake and we request no flowers to be sent.
