I was very Fortunate to have grown in the neighborhood of Windsor with the Lindsey Family. Being able to get to meet Mr. Lindsey and getting to witness a Man who Conquered so much was an Honor. God Created a Man who he became. My Condolences to the whole Lindsey Family. RIP Mr Lindsey.

John taught me how to drive a stick shift in 1967 with his '57 ford, then introduced me to Father Paul Charboneau, who had me deliver food & clothing to a church on 12th street in Detroit during the 1967 riots. There were National Guard & machine gun posts everywhere! It was something I'll never forget and for which I am truly grateful for. You have remained my friend all these years & I love you.

It was such an honour to see John, he worked at my fathers business when I was young and then for years later our paths would cross and he always had a big smile and a heart of gold and time to talk. My condolences to the family. He was a wonderful man and a great friend. John Millson Windsor

I had the distinct pleasure of singing beside John for many years at Holy Name of Mary Church. I will always remember John as a "gruff bear" of a man and a man with an enormous heart under that gruff exterior. Blessed are those that were able to call that man friend.

I remember John as a kind, loving, and caring person he helped me when I first came into the AA program by just being himself and telling me “It does get better” Thank you John. I will always remember that.❤️

Having heard John tell his life stories of struggle, overcoming adversity, and ultimately serving others, John is a true example of a person living a life in recovery. Never needing a microphone, John's booming voice was gripping as he humbly shared his wisdom and appreciation for simple things like gardening and helping those around him however he could. John will be missed by many, and his spirit will carry on in the people he positively impacted.

Paulette Lajoie I have known John since about 1980 at Holy Name of Mary Church. I wrote a story on the painting of the Church interior. And took many pictures of that ongoing 6 month painting project. I also took a few roles of film when he was part of the Clown Conference in Windsor. John was a "registered" clown among about 500 clowns that day. It was like an all day Kodak moment. I helped him with the Open Door Club next to Adie Knox in the 80's. And in the past several years, since I am a bookkeeper and do tax returns, I of course saw him every year at tax season. I will miss our talks, which many times included reminiscing.
