My grandmother was one of the great loves of my life. Though she was a very complicated person her love was both a pillar and constant in my life. I was very blessed to have a young grandmother and spend many vibrant years together. When I was small, my mother, her and I were an inseparable trio. Some of my fondest memories are the simple ones - of having coffee and a cinnamon bun at the Iron Kettle or tea and ice cream at Banners in between running errands on foot and riding the bus. One of her most remarkable acts of love (in my eyes) was how she shared a home with a friend and his young daughter and took her in as her own. In her efforts alongside my mother and father, this little girl was raised as a sister to me in every sense of word. At her heart my grandmother was a very selfless and generous person who gave absolutely everything within her means for the people and animals she loved. I am so very grateful that I was able to introduce my son and her first great grandchild Hayden to her this past fall before her passing. She will be cherished always. Love you grandma ❤
