Obituary of Robert Emmett Gibson

Deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing after a brief illness on January 11, 2020. Reunited with his son, Christopher (Dec. 2016), his brother David (July 2014) and his parents, Dorothy and Emmett. Survived by his wife, Marilyn, daughter Shelly (Dave), his grandchildren, Emily, Matthew, Sara, Kyle, Shannon and great grandson, Christain. Also survived by his sister Shirley (Bob), brother Jim (Arlene), sister-in-law Louise and many nieces and nephews. Robert attended Kennedy Collegiate, Ryerson and Fanshaw Colleges. He was employed by Cunningham Sheet Metal (Windsor) for 42 years, 15 of which he was co-owner. He was also the past president of W.S.M.C.A., member of W.C.A.B.L. for many years, played baseball with E.C.L.B.L. and coached Windsor South Little League. Robert was always an avid sportsman, loved boating (Can. Power and Sail Squadron), fishing and he was a lifelong Montreal Canadiens Fan. He had many hobbies, "Jack of all trades, Master of most!" Robert will be missed by his golfing pals on Tuesdays, his league at Dominion Golf Course and his long time Timmies "Coffee Club" gang. Thank you to St. Elizabeth and the Hospice of Windsor for their loving care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. A gathering will take place with family and friends at a later date.
