Obituary of Leon Emile Cyr

Passed away December 27 2019 at Riverside Place Long Term Care. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years Mary, 2013 (nee Vallillee). Loving father of 5 daughters; Lorraine Johnson (Steve), Deborah Dignan (Michael), Claire Lauzon (Leo), Carol Travenetti and Audrey Quint (late John, 2018). Grandfather of Christopher, Matthew, Elise, Jonathan, Noelle, Monique and Rachael. Great grandfather of Quinne, Luci, Ellis P. and Ellis M. Survived by his brother Rene Cyr of Dorval, Quebec. Leon was born in Maria, Gaspe, Quebec. He was self taught in English and moved to Montreal. Work took him to Lakewood, CA and finally to Windsor in 1971 where he retired as an electrician from Chrysler Canada. He was a proud member of Local 444, IBew (64 years) and the National Geographic Society (51 years). Cremation has taken place. A private family celebration will take place at a later date.
