William Edwin Carruthers

 April 6, 1936 – January 17, 2024

It’s with heavy hearts the family of Bill Carruthers announces his passing on January 17, 2024 at the age of 87.

Cherished husband of 55 years to Pat.

Beloved father to Sean (Devon), Lori, and Sheri (Mark).

Proud Grandpa to Kayla, Braydan, & Norah Carruthers, and Owen & Aiden Little.

Forever remembered by his in-laws Charlene (Mike), Jackie (Doug), Mark (Doris), and Bern.

Bill will also be dearly missed by his extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to VON nurses Vickie and Jenny and to St. Elizabeth, especially Buddha, for their extraordinary care and compassion.

Bill was a proud Navy Veteran.

Bill had a warm and friendly nature that endeared him to everyone he met. He had a knack for making friends effortlessly everywhere he went and was always ready with a kind word or a whistling tune.

Bill’s hometown of Goderich was the source of his fondest memories. He often reminisced about his high school friends. Bill enjoyed taking his family on vacations to Goderich where he created new and lasting memories with Pat and their children. Bill’s love and support were unwavering, and his family was his greatest source of joy and happiness.

Bill leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience. He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place.

A Memorial Mass will take place at St. Simon & St. Jude Parish, 488 St Charles St, Belle River, on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 11:00am.
