Obituary of Antonio "Tony" Alleva
Antonio Alleva
August 23, 1952-January 9, 2023
With broken hearts we announce the passing of Tony Alleva, 71, at home surrounded by his loving family. Tony has embarked on his final journey – destination unknown, but probably a golf course in the sky. Born in Ofena Italy to the late Maria Olga (Moscardelli) & Gero Alleva. Tony was the first in his family to graduate from college. He graduated from the Travel & Tourism Program at St. Clair College and then went on to own and operate a successful travel agency and restaurant. Tony excelled at all that he did – his landscaping skills were so legendary, even Mother Nature took notes.
A devoted husband and papa, he will be greatly missed by his wife Mary (Fedele-Perpich), daughters Crista (Angelo Fregapane) & Erin (Val Momodu) as well as his Step-son Christopher (Maria Menard). The best Nonno to Rocco, Mackenna, Sebastian & Ryan. A loving brother to Sandra (Thomas Bauer) and the coolest Zio to Eric (Jesse) & Olivia (Andre). Loving nipote to Anna & the late Giuseppe Moscardelli, as well as cugino to Anthony (Nadia) & Nikola. Tony was blessed to be the brother in law of Cesare, Lina (Kim), Michelle (Domenic), his best friend Mario (Angela), Bernadette (Michael), John (Jan), the late Frank and loving Zio to Amy (Keith), Cal (Kendra), Mikey, Emilio (Justine) & Samuel.
Tony was the undisputed captain of the family ship, sailing through life with a love for travel that rivaled any jetsetter. Whether he was teeing off, shuffling the cards for a game of gin or poker, or sculpting the perfect lawn, his zest for life was as strong as his allegiance to the Toronto Maple Leafs – a loyalty even his death couldn’t break. May his spirit continue to wander the world, leaving laughter and well-manicured lawns in its wake. Fair winds and aces, dear Papa.
No services will take place, as Tony requested, but we his family do appreciate your love and support during this difficult time.
