Obituary of George Boyle Smith

George Boyle Smith

January 22, 1950 - December 16, 2023 

Passed  away peacefully Saturday December 16th at the age of 73 with his family by his side. Survived by his loving wife of 49 years Mary-Anne (Berthiaume), children Justin and Jenny (Slav Pulcer), brother Charles, sisters Nancy, Gail, along with many loving  family members of the Smith and Berthiaume families.  Predeceased  by his parents Alexander and Aggie, brother Alex, and sisters Iris and Margaret. 

George came to Canada from Glasgow Scotland as a young boy along with his family to pursue a new life. One of the proudest moments for him was becoming a Canadian citizen - something he celebrated with pride and his miniature Canadian flags every July 1st. He was an avid war history buff, gardener,  PlayStation gamer,  music lover, jokester, animal lover and helper to all. Those who knew George knew of his kind heart, silly antics  and his deep  love for his family.  We have no doubt he has been lovingly welcomed by and reunited with all our loved ones who have passed on before him. We will forever hold close loving memories of him in our hearts until we meet again. 

A heartfelt thank you to the staff of the T2B Palliative Care Unit at Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare for their kindness, compassion and empathy. 

Cremation has taken place at his request and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
