Obituary of Gail Sutton
In Loving Memory of Gail Sutton
It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Gail Sutton, Gail departed on December 7, 2023.
Gail was born on June 15th, 1954, in Montreal, Canada, and later moved to Southern Ontario with her mother and siblings: her sister Linda Bertrand, who preceded her in death in September 2022, and her two brothers, Alfie and Terry Stelling. Gail's early years were marked by challenges, having been rehomed at a young age. Despite the obstacles, she graduated from high school and pursued her dreams at St. Clair College, studying Travel and Tourism with aspirations to explore the world.
Life took an unexpected turn for Gail when she became a mother. A few years later, a significant workplace injury altered the course of her life. Despite her own struggles, Gail found the strength to push through every day. Some days were harder than others, but she wasn’t the type to give up.
Gail found solace and strength in her faith, becoming an active member of her parish. The teachings and support she received there became a guiding light in her life. She often spoke of the profound impact her faith had on her journey, helping her navigate through both joy and adversity.
The centre of Gail's pride and happiness resided in her daughter, Natalie Sutton, and her three adored grandchildren: Brianna, Cole, and Harvey Clermont. Every moment spent with them was treasured, evident in the sparkle that danced in her eyes whenever someone inquired. Pulling out her phone, Gail loved showcasing their photos and recounting their numerous accomplishments to anyone willing to listen.
In the face of a rare form of cancer, Gail approached her final days with the same courage that defined her life. After a sudden diagnosis, she was moved to hospice and within hours, she made the decision that her journey had come to an end, and she peacefully embarked on her final voyage.
Gail Sutton will be missed by those who loved her. May she rest in eternal peace, free from pain and suffering.
In light of Gail's passing, there will be no formal service held. Instead, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in her honour, in lieu of flowers. Your contributions will serve as a meaningful tribute to Gail's memory and support ongoing efforts in the fight against cancer. The family deeply appreciates your understanding and generosity during this difficult time.
