Gary Ernest Lunau

February 14, 1949 - December 1, 2023

Gary passed away with family by his side on Friday, December 1, 2023. Spouse of 46 years to Rosemary Lunau, nee Smith. Father of Elizabeth Roland (Gord), Jennifer Dinchik (Mike), and Anderson Lunau (Jasmine). Grandfather to Michael and Jack Dinchik. Brother of Donalda Fisher (Alan) and Dave Lunau (Sharon) of Owen Sound. Uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by parents Roy and Barbara (Connor), and sister Carol Grant. 

Gary grew up farming, raising Prized Champion Hereford cattle on the Lunau family farm and was involved in 4H during his youth. He started his career in insurance, and then became a banker, working for Scotiabank for almost 30 years.  He enjoyed travelling all over the world and saw many countries. Gary loved his red wine and was an avid collector and took many trips to France and Italy to visit vineyards and wineries. He enjoyed golf for most of his adult life, spending many days at the golf club golfing and playing cards with friends. Gary loved baseball, hockey and the Toronto Maple Leafs.  He was proud of being the manager of the Owen Sound Crescents Hockey Team in the 1970's, Past President of Windsor St Clair Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow.

Gary will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, December 10, 1:00 - 4:00 at Essex Golf & Country Club, 7555 Matchette Rd, Windsor. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Windsor-Essex County.
