December 10th, 1925 - November 23rd, 2023

“A limb has fallen from the family tree that says grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song the good life I lived while I was strong. It is not goodbye, it’s I’ll see you again.”

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Gibbons on November 23rd, 2023 at the age of 97.

Only 17 days shy of her 98th birthday.

Predeceased by her parents Samuel and Phoebe, loving husband Forest Edward, sister Joyce, daughter Valerie and son in law Michael. Cherished mother of Keith, Bryan (RuthAnne), Randall, Craig, Dianne, Valerie and Paul.

Forever loved by granddaughter Shelby and many more family members back home in England. For many years Joan enjoyed sewing in her spare time for family and friends, bird watching, trips to Point Pelee National Park and cuddling with her many cats who she adored.

A special thank you to all the Nurses and PSWs from Paramed who were involved in Joan’s care over the years as well as the Hospice of Windsor.

As per Joan’s wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County Inc and the Windsor/ Essex County Humane Society for cats.
