TIMUIK, Rodney Paul
July 24, 1951 – November 20, 2023
It’s with heavy hearts the family of Rodney Timuik of Wildwood announces his peaceful passing on November 20, 2023.
Beloved husband of 52 years to Charlene (nee Thibert).
Cherished father to Dustin (Angela) and Mandy.
Proud grandfather to Kelsey, Christien (Jordyn), and Cale (Olivia).
Great-grandfather to Aubree Rose.
Forever remembered by his siblings Bill (Helene) and Cathy (Andy) and in-laws Chuck Thibert (Kim), Shelly Heydon (Randy), Carol Dunn (Dan), and Murray Thibert (Charlene).
Predeceased by his parents William and Anne Timuik.
Rod will also be dearly missed by his kitty, Mia, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Rod was a machine repairman at Ford Motor Company and retired in 2006. He was the past President of the Kinsman Club in Essex and was a member of the Essex Legion Branch 201.
One of Rod’s greatest passions was golf, and he found solace and happiness on the greens of Wildwood. Rod and Charlene loved travelling to Florida where they would spend months of every year enjoying spending time with friends in the sunshine.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Rod would describe him as a gentle soul. His kind and compassionate nature touched the lives of many, and he had a remarkable ability to make everyone around him feel valued and loved. He had a quick wit, and had a sharp sense of humour. He was known for his clever one-liners and ability to bring laughter to any room.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
If desired, donations in memory of Rod made to the Hospice of Erie Shores would be greatly appreciated.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the ParaMed nurses, especially Valerie and Tonya, and the entire team at the Hospice of Erie Shores for their incredible care and compassion.
