Obituary of Ian Douglas McPherson

Ian Douglas McPherson passed away suddenly yet peacefully on Sunday Oct 29th at the age of 67. His greatest joy in life was being a husband to his beautiful wife Cindy, a proud father to his two daughters Hannah and Colleen, his two boys (our dogs) Airlie and Fitzgerald, and a loving son to Dora and Mac.

Anyone who knew Ian well knew he was skilled in so many areas. He barbecued the best burgers, had quite the swimming career, knew every dog’s name in the neighbourhood, wrote the best good morning love notes to his wife, was the world’s best listener and shoulder to cry on, and gave the best hugs. And no one, absolutely no one, wore Hawaiian shirts better than he did.

Ian just had a way of making you feel like the most important person in the room and his attention to all the little details about everyone he came in contact with went unmatched. It didn’t matter who you were or how he knew you, he remembered your story.

We will never be able to forget his booming full body laugh or the way his stories took you around the block…a few times. He loved with his whole heart and he was too charming not to love right back. To say he will be missed is an understatement, our lives are forever touched and will never be the same.
