Obituary of Michael Piette

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Michael on October 27, 2023, at the age of 74, after a long and brave battle with Alzheimer’s disease, a fight that was never fair from the beginning.  Mike will be missed by his wife Ruth Anne (nee McConnell), daughter Laura (Duane Acorn), son Jim (Chrystal), and grandchildren Elliott, Adrian and Emery Acorn, Kendalyn, Adelynn and Ella Piette.  Brother-in-law of Janet White (2014), Mary Lou and Ben Chapman, Jim and Engelina McConnell.  Brother of Terry, Penny, Laurie, John and Steve.  Mike retired from the City of Windsor Public Works Department after many years of service.  We want to thank the staff and caregivers at Extendicare Tecumseh – Lakewood Unit.  The gentle and compassionate care of Mike and our family in his final week was remarkable and truly appreciated.   In keeping with Mike’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.  In kindness, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Windsor-Essex County in Mike’s memory.

  Go sleep peacefully now Mike.  We will love you forever.
