Obituary of Carolyn Anne Lalonde
Carolyn Anne Lalonde passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 76 years young surrounded by her loved ones at the time of her passing. Carolyn was born in Enfield, Nova Scotia on February 9, 1947 to her proud parents, Ray and Margaret “Nellie” Greenough; third child in their family of seven children. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Yvonne Kirk (Bill). In 1966, she met the love of her life, John Lalonde of Sudbury and they wed in 1966, going on to have one child, Todd Lalonde (Ali). John and Carolyn were married for 56 years. Her siblings Jeannette Lynds (Ronnie, passed), Debbie Breault (Mike), Ron Greenough, Brenda Jolicouer (Paul) and Darlene Spencer (Terry) loved Carolyn dearly and will deeply miss their sister’s unwavering love. Carolyn was the most amazing Nan to four grandsons, Brandon, Bryceton, Calder and Grant. She was incredibly proud of her boys and loved them with all her might and would talk about them to anyone who would listen. Carolyn served as a dedicated employee to Comark Company for twenty years managing numerous stores.
When Carolyn had her first and only child, Todd, she dedicated her life to being the best mother to which she excelled. Carolyn was the foundation of her family always giving love as her answer, never missed a special date or hockey game and always put others before herself. Her selflessness and support were blessed gifts to those she loved so greatly. Carolyn was Todd’s greatest fan and biggest cheerleader providing incredible love and encouragement throughout her life. This love fanned out to her husband, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews and all loved ones. Carolyn’s breath, light and love are heavenly now. We will speak of you, Nan, until the day we hug you again and hear your special, special laugh. Love you more than MUCHO.
Carolyn’s family requests that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Our family will be celebrating Carolyn’s life at a later date.
