Obituary of Shirley Mae de L'Éveille

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Shirley Mae de L'Éveille (nee Healey) February 17th, 1942- Oct 6th, 2023. Our mom had been battling various cancers since being diagnosed in December 2022.

She passed peacefully with family at her side.

She is survived by her son's, daughter's -in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends.

Wayne and Dawn Englehart (nee Comissa) of Niagara Falls ON and granddaughter's Nicole and Kristin of Niagara Falls,

Dave de L'Éveille of Windsor ON and grandson Derek Rosso of Squamish, BC.

Sean and Jennifer de L'Éveille (nee Giles) of Dartmouth NS, grandson Nicolas and Veronica de L'Éveille (nee Black) and great grandson Pierson de L'Éveille of Oromocto NB. grandaughter Meaghan de L'Éveille and Jonathan Chartrand and great granddaughter Emilia of Dartmouth, NS.

Jamie and Kimberley de L'Éveille (nee Pepper) of Windsor, ON and granddaughters Melinda and Rebecca de L'Éveille of Windsor, ON.

She also leaves darling her four legged companion of many years Daisy Mae.

Shirley was an active member of the Windsor West Community Centre. (1980-1994). Windsor Housing Action Group, Alternative Energy Council of Ontario. She also worked as a craft /ceramics teacher and program coordinator for the former Centres for Seniors of Windsor.

She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Especially when everyone was able to get together for family functions. Prior to covid,  Mom would enjoy many fun rounds of Bingo with family and friends as well.

She didn't want her many friends to know or worry for her,  when she found out her prognosis.

She didn't know how to tell them that she wasn't going to be here for much longer.

So many thanks and appreciation for the care and compassion our mother received from the nurses and doctors at the Dr. Y. Emara Centre For Healthy Aging and Mobility's Palliative Care Unit.

As well the heartfelt thanks to the Transition to Betterness (T2B) program there for all their supports to our family and mother.

A small celebration of life will be held when we can make arrangements to do so.Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE (Dougall) 519-254-2585.  Online condolences and cherished memories may be shared with the family at www.simplechoicecremation.ca
