Along with his father and brother, Hank was a very proud co-owner of Golden Mile Transmission and Engine Ltd. Windsor, Ontario until 1986 where he gained many fond and lasting friendships that became like family. After Golden Mile. he then continued to work for many years in Windsor and Michigan teaching and working among automotive students. He was hard working from a very young age. He had a love for racing cars, his #91 (forever) won in 1952 at Dayus Speedway, Windsor, the biggest race he was ever in. He had many connections and much enjoyment at the Elmwood Casino meeting many performers from Hollywood. Dad enjoyed travelling to many beautiful places with his great friends in his younger years to Florida, California, New York etc. Then throughout life travelled with his family and dear friends Carole and Karl Kreitzer through the eastern parts of the U.S.A. and Canada and to the summer home he and his friends helped him build in Port Franks, Ontario.
Dad had a gentle heart. He loved animals, cats most of all. The smallest things meant the world to him. A quick phone call, a short visit and reminiscent chat. It was the little things and the appreciation of life that he had that made him so loved. And, if he could help you in a time of need, he would. Dad loved nature's grandeur of mountains and towering trees and warm sandy beaches. He always enjoyed car drives to Amherstburg and Bar Point beach.
Dad had a great connection with St. Jude and the angels. He had a great love for guitar which he played and a great appreciation of opera and loved to sing. He was also fond of hockey which he played until his later years.
Hank was a strong man who always had someone from here and up above watching out for him. He was truly blessed and so were we to have had him in our lives. He was known for giving the strongest hugs and handshakes followed with the words "God Bless You. We will remember his great sense of humor and genuine smile. He was truly a one-of-a-kind man and for this we are grateful.
This chapter of your life was rich and rewarding. We will love you forever. We will see you again. You are the wind beneath our wings.
