With deep sorrow and love, we announce the passing of Al Reid on September 27, 2023 at the age of 83.

He leaves behind his soulmate and wife, Beverly (Bev) Reid, (nee Wright), of 53 years.

Al loved his children Delia Finn (Paul), Kevin (Kathy) Reid, Michael (Hillory) Reid, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Al had so much affection for his very large fur baby family, Molly, Maya, Daisy, Otis, Annie and Moose.

Al was proud to be a brother to Wayne Wright and Enza, Rusty and Annette Wright, Neil and Judy Wright, Marcel and Josette Kadour, Joanne Edwards, Jane Holmes, and Daryl Guidolin.

Many thanks to nieces and nephews, dear friends and fellow musicians for keeping in touch.

Al loved his music. He began his career in Ottawa as a folk singer with the Ook-piks and travelled extensively with Jack Scott. Over his accomplished lifetime, Al shared so many tremendous stories of being on the road, meeting all kinds of people and being part of music history. 

He was with The Good Time Band, followed by Messiah before embarking on his solo career.

Al was a first class troubadour and his music will always be with us. It was time to hit the road once again.
