Obituary of John Rockett

ROCKETT, John
April 23, 1941 - September 17, 2023

Passed away peacefully on September 17, 2023, at the age of 82. He was the much beloved husband of Darlene Rockett (Peters) for 62 wonderful years. John always told everyone how much he loved her. Adored father to Joey and Barb Rockett, Sue and Rick Jamotte, Jennifer and Lloyd Land, and Baby John Rockett (1963). Cherished Pops to Kaylee, Amy, Katie, Jaime and Jackson. Mega Pops to Riley. Pops warmly welcomed Mark, Sean, Junior, Josh, Julia and Jessica into his family. He is survived by a sister in-law, brother in-law and many nieces and nephews. John was proud of all his family and loved spending time with them.  He retired from Chrysler Canada after 30 years of service. He was a proud veteran having served in the Navy. In his retirement years he enjoyed traveling and golfing with Darlene and his buddies. Sailing was his passion and he loved to reminisce about the years he spent on the water.  We are extremely grateful to the 4th floor staff at Metropolitan Hospital for all the care and compassion they gave John during his final days.  Cremation has taken place as per John’s request.  Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE (Wyandotte) 519-254-2585.   A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
