Obituary of Betty Ann Mathews

It is with great sadness that the family of Elizabeth Ann Mathews (nee McKenzie) announces her passing on Sept 7/23 at the age of 88 years.  Beloved partner to David Otto Montgomery for 42 years.  Cherished Mother to Robyn, Bart, the late Blake, and Holly (Raymond). Stepmother to Jim Montgomery (Lisa), Maureen Chevalier (John) and Derek Montgomery (Sandy). Forever remembered by her grandchildren Tanya (Nilton), Jared, Kendall and Gage.  And great-grandchildren Bryson, Brianna and Briella.  Loving sister to Mike McKenzie (Evelyn), Bill McKenzie (the late Sharon), Jim McKenzie (Katherine), and Brian McKenzie (Barbara).  Betty will be missed by Maria Fuerth (Ken), Lydia, Marek and Jade, lso many nieces, nephews and extended family members.  Mom loved life, her family and friends: especially her group of besties she knew since highschool, over 70 years, Marie, Norma, Joan, Sandy, June, Dee Anne, Lou Ann and Marilyn.  Betty was in the hospitality industry for over 30 years (Kozak's by the Sea) and loved to travel with her partner Dave. They had retired to Mexico and they never wanted to leave.  Betty belonged to the Windsor Yacht Club, the Moose Lodge, and the Old Bastard's Club.  She was an avid shopper and loved fashion.  The things Betty loved and was most proud of was her partner Dave, her family, her cherished friends and her beloved dog, Ghost.

As per Betty's wishes cremation has taken place and that there shall be no service but a small gathering of her immediate family for a private celebration of life. A special thank you to the staff on the 8th floor at Windsor Regional Hospital Ouellette Campus for their amazing care and the compassion they showed our mother.
