Obituary of Lucille "Lou" Berry

BERRY, Lucille,  "Lou"   Sept. 25, 1929 - Aug. 21, 2023

Peacefully in her sleep at W.R.H. Ouellette Campus.  Beloved wife of Ron (1984).  Cherished mother of Lynn (Ken 2014); Joanne (Tim); Janice (Greg), Ken (Marjorie); and Kevin (Paula).  Fun-loving gramma of Jackie (Daniel); Michael (Jill); Brian (Jenn); Meghan (John); Lindsay, Jill (Ryan); and Diana.  Dearest GG to Tyler, Bradie, Jack, Molly, Tate, Winnie, Scout, Colton, and Riley.  Lou is survived by her sister, Geraldine (Bob); brother, Richard (d: Pat); sisters-in-law Gladys (d: Stan), Louise (d: Jim); and brother-in-law Mike, as well as many nieces and nephews.  Pre-deceased by parents Irene and Bernard Strong; mother-in-law Louise Gale and father-in-law Fredrick Berry; sisters-in-law Ginny McNaughton (Jack) and Patricia Berry.  Once an avid bowler, Lou was often sought as a “ringer” by many teams.  She also loved gardening, golf, and watching the Detroit Tigers.  Former staff and students during the 1960s may remember Lou as a lunch lady at Riverside Secondary School.  A heartfelt thank you to Lynn for the loving care and comfort provided to Mom over the years. Per Mom’s wishes, there will be no visitation.  A gathering of family and friends to celebrate and share “Oh Lou” stories will be held at a later date.

Should you choose, donations to the Hospice of Windsor/Essex County and Canadian Cancer Society would be much appreciated by Lou’s family.
