Obituary of Edna Irene Jewer

Jewer, Edna Irene (nee Coates).

After a short but courageous battle with cancer, Edna passed away peacefully at her Windsor home with her family by her side on July 16, 2023 at 82 years of age. Edna was raised in Botwood, Newfoundland, raised her family in St. John’s, Newfoundland and enjoyed her final years in Windsor, Ontario.

She will be missed with many loving memories by her partner Arthur Winston Jewer; sons and daughters-in-law: Paul & Jackie, Craig & Lee Ann and Keith & Michelle; grandchildren: Michael & Matthew, Kaitlin, Adam & Sarah. We miss you and love you Nanny!

Predeceased by husband Howard Randolph Jewer, parents James & Elizabeth Coates, sister Alice Witcher (David), brothers Eric & Claud and brother-in-law Mervin (Pauline).

Edna also enjoyed spending time with her large extended family including siblings: Evelyn Carter (Jim), Margaret Jeans (Chris d.) and brother Howard Coates (Jean); siblings-in-law: Marion Mallows (Desmond d.), Ruby Manuel (Kevin), Louis Jewer (Pansy), Eleanor Hamilton (Terry), Rita Torraville (Barrie) and Pauline Stockley (Sterling). She will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cremation has already taken place. An internment ceremony in St. John’s will be determined at a later date. Donations can be made to Canadian Cancer Society of Windsor. Online condolences and cherished memories may be shared with the family at www.simplechoicecremation.ca
