Obituary of Robert Maxwell Houston
Houston, Robert Maxwell
(April 26, 1939 - July 14, 2023)
Passed away peacefully at home with wife of 59 years Jo-Anne at his bedside following a difficult 7 month illness.
Son of Eva Velda Atkinson and John Maxwell Houston. Beloved brother of Charles (Judy) and Don (Linda) and brother-in-law to Betty (Ray) and Kathy. Father of Scott (Carey), Stacey (Richard), and Shari (Goran) who were the source of his love and joy. Loving Grandfather of Aleksandra, Mara, Emma, Lauren and Jake. Uncle to Mark, Michael, Shannon (Scott), Terri (Jeff), Rick and Lisa (Jim). He will be missed dearly by all.
Bob placed family first and career second. He began his teaching career in 1963 at Leamington District High School and finished in 1995 teaching Business and Law at Riverside High School where he proudly advised for the school's Rebelogue year book. Bob loved to travel with family throughout the USA and the Caribbean where Aruba became his "island home". He will be remembered by neighbours for his constant care and attention to a beautiful lawn and garden for more than 50 years.
Robert's PSW workers took great care of him with many expressing their love for this gentle and quiet man.
After finishing the last item on his bucket list, he quietly went to sleep.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Bob's life will be announced later. If you desire, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House at the Metropolitan Campus of the Windsor Regional Hospital.
Forever in our hearts, Jo-Anne and Family
