Obituary of Kenton James Woitte

It is with great sadness that the family of Kenton James Woitte announce his passing. He lost his long and courageous battle with cancer on June 10th, 2023. His great love, hope and faith gave him unbelievable strength over the past eight years. Kent had an incredible passion for riding from a very young age. His Harley gave him such joy and added life to his days. He treasured his precious time with family and friends. Great pleasure was found in watching the eagles over Peche Island, enjoying the beauty of the outdoors, gardening, hockey, fishing, and boats both large and small. But nothing better than waking up for an early morning ride; he shall forever have the wind in his face on the wide-open road. Just days before he passed, Kent celebrated 20 years of marriage to his adored wife Rebecca, to whom he gave his everlasting love. With great joy in love there is great sadness in loss. Rebecca will forever carry years of beautiful memories with her best friend, soul mate and sweetheart. He will be sorely missed, and always remembered by his family. His loved parents Arthur and Marjorie. His cherished daughter Alicia (Cece). His beloved siblings Louise (Jeff) and Dale (Mary). His nieces and nephews Brianne, Mitch (Nikki), Andrew, Erin and Ellen. He is also mourned by his overseas family Chris (Eva) and Rachel (Ally). And he will always be loving Gramps to Caleb, Frank and Jessie. Kent found brotherhood in his close friendships with Denis, Paul, Joe T, Jeff, Steve, Chris and Joe P., and unconditional love from his two best buddies Mack and Angus. Cremation will take place after a small visitation with immediate family. A celebration of life will take place nearer to his 62nd birthday in August. The family thanks his oncology medical team led by Dr Gupta and Kim in 4-West at Met. Endless gratitude to Anne for teaching Rebecca the skills to care for Kent at home during the latter part of his journey, and his community care nurses Megan and Marissa. Heartfelt appreciation to the incredibly compassionate and supportive staff in palliative care Dr Aoun, Dr Rukavina, Matt, Sharon, Alicia and Tom Anderson in 5-North at Hôtel-Dieu, who saw him through to his final peace.
